webqem recently helped run a 4 day online event, i-Moot.

iMoot is an annual web-based event where the Moodle community of over 32 million users are provided the opportunity to join together on a global scale. The event engages a global audience of Moodle practitioners, administrators and decision makers.

The goal of iMoot is to ignite the sense of community and sharing for which Open Source, and in particular Moodle, is famous for. It’s a meeting of minds that enables the sharing of the best in each of us.

This years iMoot did just that. It saw 65 presenters from 6 continents deliver a staggering 110 presentations, 24 hours a day. The site blossomed from 0 to 544 accounts with a daily peak of 744 logins in a 24 hour period. There were over 500 tweets and dozens of blog posts.

Have a look at some of the great conversations that spawned from the event and join the community.

Many delegates from the event were very interested in how they could cut down travel costs with Adobe Connect and create eLearning experiences that engage audiences with interactivity, video, audio, and powerful visuals. These products have been proven successful, especially in the current economic climate.

webqem had the pleasure of exhibiting at the Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) 2009 conference at Star City Casino. We were situated next to the windows and had a picturesque view of the Sydney’s Darling Harbour. At the exhibition, we showed off some of our cooler technologies such as Connect Pro and maxoom, in particular the 3D spin & zoom. webqem was privaleged to be assigned by the MTAA to prepare 3D spins of some of their award winning medical technology. The final presentation was outstanding.

webqem’s operation director, Larry Adler, had the privilege of speaking at one of the MTAA’s workshops, where he spoke on the topic of ‘Delivering professional initiatives to build workforce capacity’. Larry’s input was speaking about about how the MTAA use Connect Pro to their advantage.

Thank you to the MTAA for inviting Larry to speak and webqem to exhibit at their 2009 conference.
